Beacon tech is big business for retail

AdWeek mentions beacon technology as being one of the biggest trends over the next 4 years for retail marketing. They cite research done by Juniper Research stating that “over the next four years, nearly 1.6 billion coupons will be delivered annually to consumers via beacon technology.” The article also cites a Horizon Research study that found that “Two-thirds of those in the study said beacons offering special discounts would “definitely influence my buying decisions,” and retailers have reported significantly higher redemption rates with beacons than coupons delivered by other means.”
